What’s, uh… What’s Going on Here?
Welcome to the first official post to the Language-land blog. I’m sure you’re curious as to the nature of this blog. To be honest, so I am. I have an idea of what I’d like this to be, and I have an idea of how these posts may be helpful. I am also fairly sure that no one will ever read it, however as Access Interpreting is an agency specializing in language services, ideally the Language-land blog will provide the important service of dispelling myths about and fostering interest in language and linguistics.
In addition to working as a translator and interpreter, I am also a language enthusiast and linguistics hobbyist. I’m far from an expert, but I have spent far too much time reading Wikipedia articles on this stuff. Especially given I’m not getting paid. I think the first few posts will center around very general thoughts, but soon we should be getting into some interesting topics. OK, that was the first post, quick and painless. If anyone does find this I hope you enjoy it. Feel free to comment and tell me what else I should write about. Till next time.
